New Permanent Representative of Belize Presents Credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva

Presentation of Credentials

Harold Young, the new Permanent Representative of Belize to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Young had been serving as an Advisor to the Department of History at the University of Belize since August 2024.  He was an Associate Professor at the Department of Political Science and Public Management at Austin Peay State University, United States, from August 2016 to end of July 2024.  He was an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Political Science at Georgia State University, United States, from August 2011 to May 2016.  He was also an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Political Science at Oglethorpe University, United States, from January to December 2015.  He has held a legal license to practice law in Belize since 1992.

Mr. Young has a PhD in public law from Georgia State University, United States (2016); a master’s degree in managerial leadership from National Louis University, United States (1999); a juris doctor degree in law from the University of the West Indies/Norman Manley Law School, Jamaica (1992); and a bachelor of science degree in political philosophy from the University of Dallas, Irving, United States (1987).
