New Permanent Representative of Türkiye Presents Credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva

Ayşe Sözen Usluer, the new Permanent Representative of Türkiye to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented her credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to her appointment to Geneva, Ms. Usluer had been serving as a Ministerial Advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Representation Office in Istanbul since 2023.  She was Ambassador of Türkiye in Muscat, Oman from 2018 to 2023.  Other positions she has held include being Head of International Relations at the Directorate of Archives and Publications (2014–2018); Ministerial Advisor at the Ministry for European Union Affairs (2011–2014); and Special Advisor to the Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2010–2011).

Earlier in her career, between 1993 and 2010, she held various positions in the Turkish civil service, including in justice and development and in the Cabinet of the Secretary-General to the Presidency.

Ms. Usluer holds qualifications from Turkish universities, including a PhD from Bilkent University and a degree in business administration from Marmara University.  She was born on 13 February 1975 and is married with two children.
