New Permanent Representative of Papua New Guinea Presents Credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva

Michelle Hau’ofa, the new Permanent Representative of Papua New Guinea to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented her credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Over her career of more than 35 years, Ms. Hau’ofa has worked in both the public and private sectors.  Through leadership roles within various institutions, she has contributed to promoting public health, indigenous rights, and community development; supporting refugees; and preventing corruption.  She is the first indigenous Papua New Guinean woman to chair the Board of a major financial institution in the State, and is the founder and President of the Roger Hau'ofa Kidney Foundation.

Ms. Hau’ofa obtained professional development certificates from the London School of Economics and Harvard Business School, and is currently studying in the Torrens University Master of Business Administration programme.
