New Permanent Representative of Gabon Presents Credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva

Presentation of Credentials

Rita Nanette Barreau Kambangoye Ankassa, the new Permanent Representative of Gabon to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented her credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to her appointment to Geneva, Ms. Barreau Kambangoye Ankassa held the position of Deputy Permanent Delegate of Gabon to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Paris in 2024.  From 2021 to 2024, she was posted at the Permanent Mission of Gabon to the United Nations in New York, where she served as an Advisor and Expert on African issues.  She served as a Legal Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Gabon in 2020 and 2021, and as a Diplomatic Advisor to the Minister of National Defence from 2015 to 2019.

Between 2014 and 2015, she held two positions in tandem within the Directorate-General for International Legal Affairs, including as Acting Director of International Agreements and Treaties Negotiation, and Director of Human Rights. From 2010 to 2013, Ms.  Barreau Kambangoye Ankassa worked as a Research Officer at the Office of the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ms.  Barreau Kambangoye Ankassa holds a diploma from the National School of Administration in the Diplomacy Section (2009–2010); a Master 2 in corporate law and local development from the University of Reims Champagne Ardenne, France (2005–2006); a postgraduate degree in African studies from the University of Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne, France (2004–2005); a Master's degree in economic and social administration from the University of Reims Champagne Ardenne, France (2003–2004); and a Baccalaureate L (2000). She is married with three children.
