New Permanent Representative of Lebanon Presents Credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva
Caroline Ziadeh, the new Permanent Representative of Lebanon to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented her credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.
Prior to her appointment to Geneva, Ms. Ziadeh had been serving as the Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of Mission of the United Nations Mission in Kosovo from 2021 to 2025. She held multiple diplomatic positions throughout her career, including as Ambassador and Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lebanon from 2017 to 2021. She also served as Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative of Lebanon to the United Nations from 2006 to 2017.
Ms. Ziadeh also held the posts of Deputy Head of Mission of Lebanon in London (2004–2006); Deputy Director of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2002–2004); Deputy Head of Mission of Lebanon in Austria (1999–2002); and First Secretary of Lebanon in Belgium and to the European Union (1994–1999).
Ms. Ziadeh received several awards throughout her career, including the Best Woman Ambassador Award (2016), a Government of Libya Recommendation (2012), and a Medal from the Palestinian Authority (2011). She holds a Diploma in International Relations from the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna (2000); a Diploma in International Relations from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (1995); and a Master’s degree in Economic and Political Sciences from Lebanese University (1988–1992).
