NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF MALTA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF THE UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA

Christopher Grima, the new Permanent Representative of Malta to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Michael Møller, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Grima served as an Advisor on global issues at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Trade Promotion of Malta since 2016, most recently working in the Office of the Permanent Secretary on Malta’s candidature for membership of the United Nations Security Council. He served as Malta’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York between 2012 and 2016. He held the post of Malta’s resident Ambassador to Austria from 2007 to 2011, with concurrent accreditation to Hungary, Slovakia, Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, and the international organizations in Vienna.

From 2004 to 2007, Mr. Grima held the post of Deputy Head of Mission of Malta in Vienna. He served in Brussels during Malta’s negotiations for membership of the European Union from 2000 to 2004.

Mr. Grima was born in Malta in 1964. He holds a Master’s degree in diplomatic studies with distinction from the University of Westminster, United Kingdom. He is married with two children.
