NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF MALAYSIA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA

Presentation of Credentials

Amran Mohamed Zin, the new Permanent Representative of Malaysia to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Michael Møller, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Zin had been serving as Malaysia’s Ambassador to Turkey since 2014. From 2010 to 2014, he served as Undersecretary in the South East Asia Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was a Minister Counsellor at the Embassy of Malaysia in Indonesia from 2008 to 2010.

Mr. Zin served as Deputy Permanent Representative at the Permanent Mission of Malaysia to the United Nations Office at Geneva from 2004 to 2008. He also served as a Second Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Malaysia to United Nations Headquarters in New York from 1996 to 2001. He joined the Administrative and Diplomatic Service of Malaysia in 1994.

Mr. Zin was born on 18 July 1967 in Kelantan, Malaysia. He has a B.A. in international relations from Staffordshire University, United Kingdom. He is married with three children.
