NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF BRUNEI DARUSSALAM PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNOG

Presentation of Credentials

Md Janin Erih, the new Permanent Representative of Brunei Darussalam to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Sergei Ordzhonikidze, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Erih had been serving as Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to the Russian Federation since 2004.

For most of his career, Mr. Erih has been working in the field of education. He worked at the University of Brunei Darussalam from 1986 to 2004, carrying out a number of functions, the last being Assistant Vice Chancellor of the University from 2002 to 2004. He worked at the Ministry of Education from 1982 to 1986, including as Head of the Building Planning Unit of the Ministry from 1985 to 1986. He started his career as an education officer in 1976.

Mr. Erih was born on 18 June 1949. He has a number of degrees from universities in the United Kingdom, including an MBA.
