NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF YEMEN PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNOG

Presentation of Credentials

Ibrahim Said Al-Adoofi, the new Permanent Representative of Yemen to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Sergei Ordzhonikidze, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Previous to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Al-Adoofi was serving as Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Yemen. In 2005, he was Ambassador of Yemen to Jordan.

A career diplomat, Mr. Al-Adoofi was Minister Plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Director of the United Nations Department from 2001 to 2005.
In 1996, he served at the Yemeni Embassy in Ankara, Turkey, and in 1992 he was Counselor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Director of the United Nations Department. From 1984 to 1989, Mr. Al-Adoofi worked at the Yemeni Embassy in New Delhi, India.

Mr. Al-Adoofi holds a Doctorate in Political Science from Agra University (1988). He also holds a Master in Political Science from the National University India (1984) and a Bachelor from Baghdad University (1979).

Mr. Al-Adoofi was born on 11 March 1954 in Yemen. He is married with five children.
