NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF MONACO PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNOG

Presentation of Credentials

Robert Fillon, the new Permanent Representative of Monaco to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Sergei Ordzhonikidze, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to his appointment to Geneva, since April 2003, Mr. Fillon had served as the Director General to the Presidency of the National Council (Monaco's parliament). From October 2001 to April 2003, he was a minister attached to the Monegasque Embassy in France, and represented Monaco at the International Organization of La Francophonie. Also in 1995, Mr. Fillon served as Director General (Minister) of the Department of Public Works and Social Affairs. He began with that Department in 1991 as the Chief Administrator. He was the Administrative Director of the Princess Grace Hospital Centre from 1986 to 1991.

Mr. Fillon started his career in public service in 1980, working as an editor in the nationality service.

Mr. Fillon holds a master's in law from the University of Nice Law School.

Born on 16 June 1957 in Monaco, Mr. Fillon is married with one child.
