In Ituri Province, in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), thousands of displaced people have taken refuge in and around the MONUSCO base.
The UN Security Council met Wednesday over the deteriorating security situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and wider Great Lakes region.
