Since its inception, the United Nations has been actively protecting and promoting the health and well-being of people everywhere. Successful awareness and preventative campaigns targeting diseases, sexual, behavioral and other health concerns, as well as increased access to clean water and better nutrition have already improved quality of life for millions around the world.
