NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF GABON PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF THE UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA

Mireille Sarah Nzenze, the new Permanent Representative of Gabon to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented her credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Ms. Nzenze will concurrently be serving as Gabon’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office at Vienna, and to international organizations in Geneva.

Prior to her appointment to Geneva, Ms. Nzenze had been serving as Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Francophonie and Regional Integration, in charge of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) and regional integration, from June 2014 to July 2017. She was Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry, in charge of Gabon’s nationals abroad, from June 2012 to June 2014.

Ms. Nzenze joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Gabon in December 2000, where she has held a variety of posts, including as Director for European Affairs from August 2010 to June 2012; Director for International Organizations from April 2008 until August 2010; and Chief of the United Nations Division, in the Direction of International Organizations, from July 2005 to April 2008. She has represented Gabon in various international conferences and seminars, and has received honorary distinctions.

Ms. Nzenze has a Doctoral Diploma in military history and studies of national defence from the Université de Nantes (1998); a Diploma of Advanced Studies in the same field and from the same University (1991); a master’s degree in history from the Université Omar Bongo (1990); and a Licence es Lettres in the same field and from the same University (1989). She was born in 1962.
