EXHIBITION ON GAGARIN: THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FIRST MANNED MISSION TO SPACE OPENED BY THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL

The exhibition “Gagarin: The 50th Anniversary of the First Manned Mission to Space” was opened today by the Director-General at the Palais de Nations (Mezzanine of the E Building). He noted that Gagarin’s flight to space was not only inspirational, but represented a breakthrough for all mankind as it led to significant developments in space science and technology. The Director-General also promoted the peaceful and collaborative use of outer space, and highlighted the activities of the United Nations in this regard.
