New Permanent Representative of Malaysia Presents Credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva

Zanariah Zainal Abidin, the new Permanent Representative of Malaysia to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented her credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to her appointment to Geneva, Ms. Zanariah had been serving as the Director-General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations-Malaysia National Secretariat since August 2021.

Since joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia in 1995, she has served in the Regional Economic Cooperation Division, the Southeast Asia Division, the Maritime Department, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Department, the Multilateral Security Division and the Multilateral Political Division.

She has also served at the Embassies of Malaysia in Santiago, Chile and Caracas, Venezuela, as well as at the Permanent Mission of Malaysia to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations in Jakarta, Indonesia.  Her most recent international posting was as the Ambassador of Malaysia to the Czech Republic.
