Global warming, species extinction, water and air pollution, and the devastation of entire ecosystems are phenomenon that can no longer be ignored. The United Nations is dedicated to finding and implementing efficient, long-term solutions to tackle this most urgent threat.

Environmental targets for 2030 are covered in four of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals: to combat climate change, conserve the oceans, seas and marine resources, protect and restore terrestrial ecosystems, and ensure access to affordable and reliable clean energy for all.
