PERMANENT MISSIONS AND INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS

In accordance with its mandate as instrument of international understanding, the Library & Archives Geneva partners with Permanent Missions and International Organizations to set up a variety of cultural activities and events to promote UN objectives, multilateralism and appreciation of civilizations around the world.

The Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva

The Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies and its library are institutions of research and higher education dedicated to the study of world affairs, with a particular emphasis on the cross-cutting fields of international relations and development issues.

The University of Geneva

The University of Geneva offers continuing education, expert advice and research services to the community. It is especially active in providing services to the public and private companies. The University assists researchers to transform innovations into socially useful products.

The University for Peace

The University for Peace offers its services and collections to support study and research.

Community of information management professionals

Association of International Librarians and Information Specialists (AILIS)

AILIS promotes co-operation among international libraries and UN Library & Archives Geneva is represented on its Executive Committee.

Bibliothèque de Genève

The UN Library & Archives Geneva has established a collaboration with the Library of Geneva to improve physical preservation of our collections.

Citizen CyberLab

The Citizen CyberLab gathers researchers from a diversity of backgrounds and initiates projects that encourage citizens and scientists to collaborate. The UN Library & Archives Geneva organized several projects together with Citizen CyberLab, including hackathons, AI facial recognition in old photographs, IT solutions for easier search in archives, and automated indexing of archives documents.

History of International Organizations Network (HION)

The History of International Organizations Network (HION) aims at uniting the many researchers working on the history of international organizations and promoting collaboration between researchers, archivists of international organizations, and international civil servants.

International Council on Archives (ICA)/Section of International Organizations

The International Council on Archives (ICA) is dedicated to the effective management of records and the preservation, care and use of the world's archival heritage through its representation of records and archive professionals across the globe. The UN Library & Archives Geneva is a member of the ICA/Section of International Organizations.

International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA)

The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) is the leading international body representing the interests of library and information services and their users. It is the global voice of the library and information profession. The UN Library & Archives Geneva is a member of IFLA's Government Information and Official Publications Section. Records and Archives of International Organizations in Geneva (RAIOG) informal network

The UN Library & Archives Geneva is also participating in the Records and Archives of International Organizations in Geneva (RAIOG) network, which is an informal community of practice which aims at exchanging best practices among International Organizations based in Geneva.

United Nations Library and Information Network for Knowledge Sharing (UN-LINKS)

A community of practice enabling UN system libraries to share know-how and best practices.
