The Beyond Lab is UN Geneva’s collaborative and creative innovation space for turning complex development challenges into practical solutions and actionable pathways for long-term change.

Situated within the Office of the Director-General and equipped with an experimental mandate, the Beyond Lab helps institutions anticipate the intergenerational consequences of today’s decisions, identify emerging challenges and opportunities for policy improvements, and co-create solutions that can be tested, adapted, and applied in practice.

By combining intergenerational impact analysis, participatory policy innovation, evidence-based methods, and agile experimentation, the Beyond Lab develops and pilots new approaches, tools, and models that can strengthen institutional capacity, translate long-term thinking into concrete action, and contribute to a more inclusive, forward-looking, and effective model of international cooperation.
