Getting to the Palais des Nations
Enter the Palais des Nations through the Visitor's entrance at Pregny Gate, on avenue de la Paix, in front of the International Committee of the Red Cross building. (Please see map here)
Public transport: Transports Publics Genevois
Palais des Nations transit stops are Appia and Nations.
Access from Cornavin railway station:
- Bus lines : 8, F, V, Z (“Appia” stop)
- Tramway 15 (“Nations” stop), then a 5 minutes’ walk to Pregny Gate
Access from Cointrin airport:
- Bus lines: 28 (“Appia” stop) or 5 (“Nations” stop) then a 5 minutes’ walk to Pregny Gate.
- Other bus lines with stop at “Nations”: 11 and 22.
Entry for visitors and conference participants is possible as follows:
Access to most doors at the Palais des Nations is secured by a centralized access security system and can only be opened by means of a magnetic United Nations grounds pass issued to authorized users. Only two doors C-6, and E-40 will be accessible without a magnetic ground pass from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. to enable access to visitors and conference participants.
Entry for visitors is possible at Pregny Gate from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and visitors should obtain their badge after passing through security screening.

Exit doors after 7:00 PM: use S1 there is a release button that can be activated after 7:00 p.m.
Nations gate and Pregny gate have free flow pedrestrian exit at the turnstiles, no electronic badge is required.
If you have a bicycle with you, you will need to exit via Pregny gate after 7:00 p.m.
Entry for personnel is possible as follows:
Open 24 hours, 7 days per week for authorized pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles. Drivers are reminded to please keep vehicle windows closed when presenting their badge to Security Officers. Security officers will scan the UNOG badge of cyclists upon entry. Pedestrians will access through their dedicated entry at the Pregny Pavilion.
Security presence on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Outside of those hours, Nations Gate is accessible for entry by accredited pedestrians who announce themselves to the Security Operations Center by dialing 72900 on the phone next to the turnstiles. Before 7 a.m. and after 7 p.m., cyclists and those using scooters should enter and exit using the vehicle lanes at Pregny gate.
Chemin de Fer Gate:
Open for delivery and company vehicles, as well as accredited pedestrians from 6 a.m. – 2 p.m. Monday to Friday. Restricted opening hours for staff and delegate vehicle entry from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Drivers are reminded to please keep vehicle windows closed when displaying your badge to Security Officers. Security officers will scan the UNOG badge of drivers and, passengers upon entry. Exit for accredited pedestrians is possible beyond 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. through the turnstiles.
