New Permanent Representative of Madagascar Presents Credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva

Presentation of Credentials

Edelin Calixte Randriamiandisoa, the new Permanent Representative of the Republic of Madagascar to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Randriamiandisoa had been serving since 2015 in various roles within the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, including as a member of its Ethics and Governance Committee from 2022 to 2025, concurrently serving as an administrator at the Global Fund; as a member of its African Constituency Bureau in 2022; and as chair of a country coordinating mechanism from 2015 to 2021.

He has held several high-level positions within the Government of Madagascar, including as Coordinator at the Madagascar Maritime Information Fusion Centre and Special Advisor to the Prime Minister from 2015 to 2018; Inspector General of the Madagascar Civil Aviation Authority in 2013 and 2014; and Minister of Environment and Forests from September 2009 to May 2010.  He has also held advisory roles for the Minister of the Armed Forces, Minister of Tourism, Minister for Decentralisation and the Autonomous Provinces attached to the Presidency, and the Civil Service.

Mr. Randriamiandisoa was born in Bekily, Madagascar in 1957.  He has obtained an Executive Master of Business Administration from the École des hautes études commerciales de Paris, and several diplomas and certificates in fields such as specialist management and strategy, accounting and finance, civil engineering auditing, safety and security, State budget development and execution, and English language.
