New Permanent Representative of the Union of the Comoros Presents Credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva

Presentation of Credentials

Ahmed Ali Bazi, the new Permanent Representative of the Union of the Comoros to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Bazi served as Minister of Economy, Investment, Industry and Economic Integration of the Comoros from May 2022 to May 2024.  He also served as Minister of Maritime and Air Transport from August 2021 to May 2022.  He was the Honorary Consul of Turkey in the Comoros from 2012 to 2021.  He also served as President of the Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of the Comoros from 2008 to 2012 and from 2016 to 2021.

Between 1996 and 2021, Mr. Bazi worked in the private sector.  He was also President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of the island of Ngazidja in the Comoros from 2007 to 2008.  He speaks French, English, Swahili and Comorian.
