New Permanent Representative of  Cyprus Presents Credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva   

Presentation of Credentials

 

Olympia Neocleous, the new Permanent Representative of Cyprus to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented her credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.  

Prior to her appointment to Geneva, Ms. Neocleous worked as a Cabinet Expert in the Cabinet of Stella Kyriakides, European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety (2020). She was the Deputy Permanent Representative of Cyprus to the European Union from 2016 to 2019, and concurrently was Permanent Representative to the Committee of Permanent Representatives in the European Union. She served as Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Cyprus in Washington DC, United States from 2010 to 2015. She also served in the Embassies of Cyprus in Athens, Greece (2003-2007) and Paris, France (2001-2003).

Ms. Neocleous joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus in 1999. She worked as Head of the European Union Policies Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nicosia in 2015 and 2016. She also served as a Seconded National Expert in DG Enlargement in the European Commission from 2008 to 2010.

Ms. Neocleous holds a Bachelor of Laws from University College London, a Master of Science in Theory and History of International Relations from the London School of Economics, and is a Barrister at Law of the Inner Temple. She was born in August 1975 in Limassol, Cyprus. She is in a civil union partnership and has two children.
