George Nakseu Nguefang, the new Permanent Observer of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his letter of nomination to Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Until his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Nakseu Nguefang had been the Director of Political Affairs and Democratic Governance at the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie since 2017. Before that, he served as Deputy Director of Crisis Prevention and Management and Peace Consolidation and as programme manager.

Prior to joining the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie in 2004, Mr. Nakseu Nguefang had been a faculty member of the Université de Montréal and a legal consultant for the United Nations Development Programme and the Global Environment Facility. Furthermore, he provided legal advice to the Government of Canada and the Government of Québec in the context of the elaboration of an international protocol on the international trade of genetically modified organisms.

Mr. Nakseu Nguefang holds a law doctorate from the Université de Montréal, a diploma in arbitration, negotiation and facilitation from the Folke Bernadotte Academy in Sweden, and a diploma from the World Intellectual Property Academy in Geneva. Mr. Nakseu Nguefang is married and has four children.
