NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF COLOMBIA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF THE UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA

Adriana del Rosario Mendoza Agudelo, the new Permanent Representative of Colombia to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented her credentials to Michael Møller, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to her appointment to Geneva, Ms. Mendoza Agudelo had been serving as Vice Minister of Multilateral Affairs of Colombia. A career diplomat, she has also served as Director of Regional Integration and Concertation Mechanisms; Representative of the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the General Secretariat of the Union of South American Nations; Minister-Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Colombia to the United Nations Office at Geneva; Counsellor at the Embassy of Colombia in Washington; and Second Secretary at the Embassy of Colombia in Vienna and the Permanent Mission of Colombia to the United Nations Office at Vienna.

Ms. Mendoza Agudelo joined the Colombian Diplomatic Service in November 1989. She has also served as an Advisor to the Ministry of Interior and Justice, and Head of the International Affairs Office of the Ministry of Environment and Housing.

Ms. Mendoza Agudelo has a degree in modern languages.
