New Permanent Representative of China Presents Credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva
Jia Guide, the new Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Tatiana Valovaya, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.
Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Jia had been serving as Ambassador of China to Italy and San Marino since 2022. From 2015 to 2019, he served as Ambassador of China to Peru. He served as Deputy Chief of Mission at the Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Vienna from 2005 to 2009.
Mr. Jia has held several positions within the Department of Treaty and Law of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs since joining the Ministry in 1990. From 2019 to 2022, he served as Director-General of the Department.
Mr. Jia was born in Zhaoyuan of Shandong Province, China in October 1966. He holds a master’s degree in law, and is married and has a son.
