New Permanent Observer of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States

Presentation of Credentials

 

Stephen Fevrier, the new Permanent Observer of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his letter of nomination to Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Mr. Fevrier had been serving as Head of Mission and Chargé d’Affaires of the Permanent Mission of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States to the United Nations Office at Geneva since July 2018. He worked at the Commonwealth Secretariat from May 2012 to May 2018 in various capacities, including as a regional trade policy adviser on international trade, investment and the blue economy in Suva, Fiji from April 2017 to May 2018; a consultant on international trade, investment and the blue economy between Suva, Fiji and Vienna, Austria from July 2015 to April 2017; and a Trade Adviser in the Economic Affairs Division of the Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland (May 2012 to June 2015). He worked as a Senior Technical Attaché with the Permanent Delegation of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States to the United Nations Office at Geneva from April 2006 to May 2012.

He started his career at the Ministry of External Affairs and International Trade of Saint Lucia as a Foreign Service Officer in the Trade and Legal Division from December 2002 to April 2006.

Mr. Fevrier has a Bachelor of Law from the University of London, London and a Master of Laws in international commercial law from the University of Westminster, London. He also has a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Western Ontario, Ontario, Canada.
