NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF BULGARIA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA

Presentation of Credentials

Deyana Kostadinova, the new Permanent Representative of Bulgaria to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented her credentials to Michael Møller, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to her appointment to Geneva, Ms. Kostadinova had been serving as Chief of Cabinet of the President of Bulgaria since December 2015. In 2013, she served as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labour and Social Policy in the caretaker government of Bulgaria. She was appointed as Secretary of Social Policy, Youth and Sports of the President of Bulgaria in 2012, and served as Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy in 2011 and 2012. She started her political career in 2009 as an adviser on social policy to the Prime Minister of Bulgaria.

Ms. Kostadinova has a long professional experience in the field of human rights and especially children’s rights. At the beginning of her career, she had worked in the State Agency for Child Protection since its establishment as Director of the Directorate for Monitoring the Rights of the Child.
