NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNOG

Presentation of Credentials

Zenon Mukongo Ngay, the new Permanent Representative of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Michael Møller, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Mukongo Ngay had been serving at the Permanent Mission of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the United Nations in New York since 1998 in charge of legal affairs.

Mr. Mukongo Ngay worked as an Assistant at the University of Lubumbashi, Faculty of Law, from 1994 to 1997. He was a lawyer working at the court of appeal in Lubumbashi from 1993 to 1997.

Mr. Mukongo Ngay was born on 3 July 1966 in Tango, Democratic Republic of the Congo. He is married with three children. He has two degrees in law from the University of Lubumbashi (1989 and 1992). He also has a degree specializing in international law and the promotion of human rights from Colombia University (2002) as well as a number of certificates and diplomas.
