NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF THE UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA

Doreen Debrum, the new Permanent Representative of the Marshall Islands to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented her credentials to Michael Møller, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to her appointment to Geneva, Ms. Debrum had been serving as Assistant Secretary to the Bureau of Multilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Marshall Islands since October 2013. From October 2010 to May 2013, she was a Consultant for the Food and Agricultural Organization, and National Food Security and Sustainable Livelihoods Coordinator, Food and Agriculture secondment, Ministry of Resources and Development of the Marshall Islands. From May 2008 to October 2010, Ms. Debrum was a Fisheries Policy and Planning Advisor at the Marshall Islands Marine Resources Authority. She served as the Undersecretary for Asia/Pacific Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Marshall Islands from February 1996 to December 2005.

Ms. Debrum has a certificate in public management from the Masters Certificate Programme at Missouri State University (2005) and a Bachelor degree in business administrative management from Southwest Missouri State University (1999).
