The Director-General attended an event today on the occasion of World Environment Day, hosted by the Swiss Federal Council, the State Council of the Republic and Canton of Geneva, and the Administrative Council of the City of Geneva. World Environment Day, celebrated on 5 June, is one of the main vehicles through which the United Nations stimulates worldwide awareness of environmental issues and promotes sustainable development.
