NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF BARBADOS PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF THE UNITED NATIONS OFFICE AT GENEVA

Chad Blackman, the new Permanent Representative of Barbados to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Michael Møller, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Mr. Blackman is an international trade advisor and attorney, working in the private sector, who during his career has focused on legislative harmonization, trade facilitation, regionalism and World Trade Organization compliance, among other issues. He was a partner and international trade advisor at GPI Partners International from June 2015 until his appointment to Geneva. From 2011 to 2014, he was a trustee and director at the Commonwealth Youth Exchange Council (United Kingdom), and from October 2010 to October 2011, he served on the Commonwealth Secretariat as a youth development consultant. From January 2004 to December 2006, he was the Youth Ambassador of Barbados to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).

Mr. Blackman has an LLB in law from the University of Essex in the United Kingdom (2011 to 2014), and an LLM in international trade law from the same University (2014 to 2015).
