NEW PERMANENT REPRESENTATIVE OF MONGOLIA PRESENTS CREDENTIALS TO DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF UNOG

Presentation of Credentials

Luvsantseren Orgil, the new Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Sergei Ordzhonikidze, the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

Prior to his appointment to Geneva, Mr. Orgil had been serving as Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of Mongolia since 2008.

Mr. Orgil started his career as a trainee diplomat at the Embassy of Mongolia in London, United Kingdom, in 1985. Between 1986 and 1991 he served as an Attaché at the Department of Policy Planning, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; from 1991 to 1995, he was the Second Secretary at the Embassy of Mongolia in Washington D.C., United States. He later served as Civil Affairs Officer in the UN Observer Mission in Tajikistan between 1997 and 1998.

Mr. Orgil received a Diploma in International Relations from the Moscow Institute of International Relations in 1986 and a Master in International Relations from George Washington University in 1999.

Born on 18 June 1963, Mr. Orgil is married with three children.
