I was last in Damascus in July for consultations with the Government of Syria.
Since then, I have had several rounds of consultations with the opposition Syrian Negotiations Commission.
Today, I had another very positive meeting with Syrian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Walid Muallem discussing the remaining issues leading to the formation of the Constitutional Committee.
I have also been in contact with the leader of the Syrian Negotiations Commission Nasser Hariri today and had very positive discussions with him.
