Choi Kyong-lim, the new Permanent Representative of the Republic of Korea to the United Nations Office at Geneva, today presented his credentials to Michael Møller, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva.

GENEVA (Issued as received) – The UN Committee on the Rights of the Child welcomes Somalia’s ratification of the Convention on the Rights of the Child on 1 October 2015 and repeats its call for universal ratification of the Convention.

The Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights today concluded its consideration of the second periodic report of Sudan on the implementation of the provisions of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.

The Committee on the Rights of the Child today concluded its seventieth session after adopting its concluding observations and recommendations on the reports of Bangladesh, Brazil, Chile, Cuba, Kazakhstan, Madagascar, Poland, Timor-Leste and the United Arab Emirates under the Convention on the Rights of the Child and its Optional Protocols.
